A few storms possible tonight, chance for storms next several days

Posted:

Here is current radar:

THIS AFTERNOON: It's mostly sunny but not too hot. To our west and south, there have been some showers and storms. Closest storms are near Andrews, moving NE toward Lamesa.

TONIGHT: A few showers or storms are possible this evening into late tonight. Coverage should be fairly limited. Low temp in the to upper 50s.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy, high near 80. Wind SE/S 5-15mph. There is a chance for a few storms during the evening into tomorrow night.

NEXT FEW DAYS: The pattern doesn't change all that much from day to day. We'll have plenty of humidity in place. And probably some weak support for storm development each day. This doesn't look like the weeks of active weather we had earlier, where severe storms broke out daily. Instead, it's more of a summertime setup. Placement of storms will appear random and coverage will probably be fairly limited.

All this means the chance that you'll get a shower or storm at any one location isn't great. But the chance is there this weekend through most of next week. It'll probably warm slightly by the end of next week.

If you have outdoor plans, there's nothing to warrant changing things a few days out. The chance for storms isn't great on any single day. But stay informed on what the weather is doing. We could see some severe storms at some point, not a clear-cut risk at this point.

Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have the next forecast update early tomorrow.
-Matt
