We started the day sunny, then low clouds increased from the south.
TODAY: Clouds will break up for a mostly sunny sky, high near 78. UV Index will be high, so if you are planning on being by the pool don't forget to wear the sunscreen.
TONIGHT: Moisture will push into the higher elevations of New Mexico where storms will develop through the afternoon. By this evening these storms will likely be in our western counties. Some might be strong to severe with large hail, damaging wind, and flooding the main concerns. This activity will push east into the early morning hours of Friday. Not everyone will get rainfall with this activity.
FRIDAY: High near 80, another break from the storms through the day with a partly sunny sky. Then another shot for storms from the west pushing into the area later in the day.
WEEKEND: The chance for showers and storms stays in place through the weekend. Not expecting it to rain at all time or locations, but there is a good chance for the area. Some showers and storms might be strong to severe, although the risk is looking lower. If we get multiple rounds of rain the risk for flooding will increase. Highs will climb to the lower to mid 80s.
EXTENDED: The set up bring us this multi day storm chance will stay in place. Then the upper level low will shift northeast by mid to late week. This means the chance for storms will stay in place through the first half of the week.
Have a great Thursday! Matt with the latest updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
