Local businesses partner with Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for Light the Night Fundraiser

LUBBOCK, Texas -

A Lubbock supplies company is working with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise money for cancer research and families or patients.

BMC hosted its Casino Night to raise money through the Light the Night Campaign. 80 percent of the money raised will go to families who have loved ones with a blood cancer.

"The more attention we can draw, the more money we can raise to find a cure, whether it be today, tomorrow, in the near future, the far future it's something that's really important," BMC Administrative Manager and Light the Night Ambassador Christina Perez said. "I think that everyone should get involved because it affects one out of three people."

LLS has invested more than $1 million to cancer research. The money raised in Lubbock will go to the North Texas Chapter.
