UPDATE: DPS Troopers respond to fatal crash in Hale County

Hale County, Texas -

At about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a pickup that crashed into a semi on US 70 in Hale County, just east of Lamb County. 

State Troopers report one person died and another was injured after trying to pass a semi turning across the highway. 

The couple inside the pickup crashed into the semi, went through a fence and stopped in a field. 

The driver, Isidro Rodriquez, 80, suffered non-incapacitating injuries. The passenger Eladia Rodriguez, 80, was killed in the crash. 

No charges have been filed.
