Red Cross, Lubbock Fire Rescue install smoke detectors

The American Red Cross and Lubbock Fire Rescue want to drastically lower the number of people who die every day in house fires. The key is properly installed smoke detectors.

Both agencies helped install smoke detectors for free for people who need them in Lubbock and Slaton. This program has been ongoing in the South Plains area since 2016.

Across the state, volunteers have installed nearly 2 million alarms since 2014.

If you need help with smoke alarm installation, contact the South Plains Chapter of the American Red Cross.
