Severe storms produced damage across West Texas early Saturday morning, including apparent tornado damage in San Angelo and Abilene.

It's not yet clear if a tornado or straight-line wind produced the significant damage. A tornado warning was active for Abilene at the time; radar showed significant rotation on the storm. Radar expert James Aydelott showed the strong rotation just after 6 a.m.
The NWS San Angelo reported a tornado caused damage and injured at least one person in Ballinger.

Farther east, a tornado watch continues until 5 p.m. ahead of the line of storms. The watch runs from the Hill Country to Dallas up to Tulsa. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
