Round of storms Monday night, cooler week overall

Breezy overnight under mostly cloudy skies. A stray shower is possible off the Caprock, but don't expect much. Another round of thunderstorms comes Monday night and into early Tuesday morning. We're not looking at widespread showers, but we could see a couple strong storms across the South Plains. Bobby Johnston will have the latest update Monday morning on Good Day Lubbock. Thereafter, the week ahead is generally cooler than this past weekend.

TONIGHT: Low near 60°, mostly clear skies with a stray shower off the Caprock. Breezy, with SSW winds 15-20mph, with some gusts up to 30mph.

SUNDAY: High near 79°, with increasing clouds by the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms expected by the evening, some of which may be strong. East wind 10-15mph.

After Monday night, expect a mix of sun and clouds. Another chance of rain comes toward the weekend.
