LUBBOCK, Texas -

According to a police report, the argument started because Jackson was squirted with a water gun. Jackson got angry and began arguing with Texas Tech football player John Scott.

Witnesses told police they saw Jackson walk away for a few minutes and return, removing a pistol, "waving" it around and firing at Scott, striking him and Kiana Pipkins, 19.

Several witnesses identified Jackson as the shooter. Police were able to identify Jackson from the pool surveillance footage.

Scott's girlfriend told police she saw Jackson pull out a gun and fire at Scott and his friends.

On Sunday, police reported Jackson turned himself in. He had an outstanding arrest warrant for aggravated assault in connection to the shooting that sent two people to the hospital.

UMC officials report Pipkins has been released from the hospital and Scott is in "satisfactory" condition.

Lubbock Police are looking for a suspect who shot two people at a college pool party Saturday night.

LPD reports the first shooting occurred just after 6 p.m. at the Park East Apartments. This is on the 1800 block of Glenna Goodacre.

Police report it appears there was a fight, and the suspect then fired shots, hitting two people. One was a female who had minor injuries. She was taken to UMC. The other victim is Red Raider freshman defensive lineman John Scott III. An officer on scene told our FOX34 photojournalist Scott was shot in the stomach and leg. He was taken to UMC where he underwent surgery.

The suspect fled the scene. The suspect is described a black man with dreads, 5'11" tall, wearing a white tank top and carrying a camo backpack.

Texas Tech did send out an alert to students and faculty.
