THIS AFTERNOON: With plenty of sun the temperature has climbed to the upper 70s to low 80s. The north wind has gotten stronger through the afternoon, as well.
TONIGHT: Low near 50, partly cloudy. There could be a few sprinkles north of Lubbock early morning.
TOMORROW: Plenty of sunshine, high near 77 and breezy. Wind SE-S 12-22mph.
A few isolated showers or storms may move in from New Mexico tomorrow night. Most, if not all, of us should miss the rain.
WEEKEND: It'll be a lot warmer on Saturday, plenty of sun. Once again a few isolated showers or storms are possible, mainly east, off of the Caprock.
NEXT WEEK: An upper-level storm system will drop into the southwestern United States. It will send waves of energy this way that could lead to storm development. We have a slight chance for storms late Monday, little bit better chance Tuesday.
The way the pattern is shaping up, and based on the time of year, we'll probably see some severe storms somewhere in the region next week. Tuesday appears a little more likely. But we're too far out to know if it'll be here in our area and a more specific timing. It's just an early heads up that next week could turn active.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
