LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock Apartment Association presented Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, of the South Plains with $10,000.

The funds were raised during the annual State of the City address in January. Each year a portion of the proceeds is given to a local charity chosen by the mayor. Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope helped present the check Thursday.

Over the past 37 years, the Apartment Association has donated more than $200,000 to local charities.
