LUBBOCK, Texas -

Five Lubbock non-profits received a $1,000 grant for their service to the community.

This year, New West Contemporary Art Museum out of Plainview, Family Promise of Lubbock, Texas South Plains Honor Flight, Friend of Camp Mary White and Morris Safe House were honored.

"Sometimes you never see them, when it comes to the folks running the poncho clause with Robert Navarez," Warren said. "They're doing that hard work that hardly anybody will ever say thank you. They don't know to say thank you, but they're doing great works in the community and that's what we want to do, say, 'thank you."

300 organizations received more than $2.5 million from the Community Foundation of West Texas.
