Drier air moving into much of the area, helping temperatures to drop off to the 30s and 40s.
TODAY: Cloud cover will start to break up some allowing some sunshine. Temperatures will stay cool again with highs in the mid to upper 60s. There will be a chance for showers and a few storms to our far southern counties.
FLOODING IN TEXAS: The heavy rain maker storm system will continue to slowly push across the state today. This will bring another round of heavy rain causing some flash flooding concerns in Central Texas. Severe storms expected in the Hill Country and along the Gulf coast. Stay weather aware and don't drive on flooded roads if traveling today.
TONIGHT: Clouds continue to clear out with lows dropping to the 40s and 50s.
REST OF WEEK: Highs will quickly climb to the upper 70s and lower 80s with lots of sunshine.
EXTENDED: Even warmer this weekend especially Saturday with highs close to 90s. Then long range models start to disagree on a cold front. Timing of cold front and how long the colder air stays in place is disagreeable for now. There might be another round of shower and storms by the middle of next week.
