MADD to host Memorial Walk to commemorate victims of impaired driving

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Mothers Against Drunk Driving will commemorate victims with a memorial walk Saturday, April 27.

It's not just drinking and driving that kills thousands of Texans a year, but impaired driving, like texting, using a GPS and even using wireless to take a call.

Lanae Gwin's husband was killed by a drunk driver November 14, 2017 in a head-on collision.

"It's mostly to honor peoples' lives that were taken senselessly by people who've made a selfish choice to drink and drive," she said.

This event is free and open to the public at the Lubbock County Courthouse. Setup will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a ceremony at 10:00 a.m. with the walk kicking off at about 11:00 a.m.
