Warmer rest of the week, strong cold front Friday

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Another cold and cloudy start to the morning. There might be a few areas of some freezing patchy fog to develop this morning too.

TODAY: By midday clouds will start to clear out of our area, giving us a sunny sky. Temperatures warming into the upper 50s and low 60s, with a west/southwest wind 5-15mph.

TONIGHT: Some clouds will move across the area with the low near 37.

WEDNESDAY: High near 68, mostly sunny and breezy, westerly wind 12-22mph.

EXTENDED: Staying warm through Friday, then a major cold front will drop highs around 30s degrees Saturday. There might be enough lift from this cold front to squeeze out some light precipitation late Friday into early Saturday. We could even see a light dusting of snow for the northern counties. The wind is also expected to increase Friday and Saturday, so wind chills will be in the single digits. BRRRR!!! Temperatures look to stay cold into next week with another front possible to keep these cold temperatures around.

Have a great Tuesday! Matt will have the next update tonight on the News at Nine.
