Some light showers this morning moved out of New Mexico and across the South Plains. Most of this activity is east of Lubbock now and moving to the northeast.
TODAY: High near 61, southwest wind changing to the northwest by this evening staying 10-18mph. Rain chances will diminish and continue pushing east through noon. A cold front will bring another chance for a few showers later on for the southern counties.
TONIGHT: Rain ending with a partly cloudy sky, low near 33 with a breezy northwest wind 10-20mph.
WEEKEND: Much colder with highs in the 40s and 50s Saturday, north wind will stay breezy early 10-20mph. Less sun and more cloud cover Sunday will keep us in the lower to mid 40s. Not expecting any precipitation for the South Plains but eastern New Mexico and northern Panhandle might see some light precipitation. More sunshine and warmer temperatures with highs back in the upper 50s by Tuesday.
Have a great Friday and stay warm this weekend. Robert will have the next forecast update tonight on the News at Nine.
