Warm for a bit longer - FOX34 Lubbock

Warm for a bit longer

Temperatures in the 70s? That's what we are forecasting for Sunday. We'll stay a little warm for the next few days, slowly cooling toward next weekend. A system developing in eastern Colorado will eventually push east. A cold front will pass our area as a result, but don't expect a big drop in temperatures. We could see a stray sprinkle as a result though on Sunday. If we do, it will likely remain southwest of Lubbock or in our eastern New Mexico counties. Expect the winds to pick up as well, up to 25mph with some gusts above 30mph.

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds with a low of 39° and SW winds near 10mph.

SUNDAY: Partly cloudy and a stray shower possible toward the SW. High temperature near 71°

Temperatures cool down slightly toward the weekend, however only one or two nights are expected to be below freezing. Another system will increase our cloud cover as well Thursday and Friday, bringing the chance of an isolated shower.
