Winter weather advisories in place across western South Plains

Winter weather advisories are posted across several Texas counties, while much of New Mexico is under a Winter Storm **Warning**. The heaviest of the anticipated snowfall is still expected to remain west of the Lubbock area, although a dusting certainly isn't impossible.

TONIGHT: Light snow possible, especially west. Mostly cloudy skies and cold with a low of 21°; "feels-like" temperatures in the teens. NE winds near 10mph.

SATURDAY: A cloudy start with clearing skies and possible snow; mainly west. High of 33° Lubbock with NE winds 5-10mph.

Another system pushes through to bring cold temperatures into the new year. It doesn't look like it'll create much rain or snow, but you will need to bundle up. Keep that in mind if you plan on going out to celebrate the new year. Lots of sunshine is in store to start off 2019.
