Much colder days ahead - FOX34 Lubbock

Much colder days ahead

We've been a little warmer than average, especially in the mornings. Expect that to change as we enter the new year. In fact, expect that to change as soon as tonight. Low temperatures will be in the mid-20s, which is actually closer to average. The chance for snow increases Friday night into Saturday morning for Lubbock.

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds with a low of 24° under partly cloudy skies, and winds 5-10mph out of the ENE.

FRIDAY: Cold, with a high of only 36°. Expect a chance of snow late, especially west of Lubbock, near the New Mexico border. Winds will be 10-15mph out of the ENE.

It's possible that we may not see any snow at all in Lubbock, but snow is certainly possible across the south plains, especially west of Lubbock.

Expect the cold to continue into the new year. If you plan on staying up until midnight on Monday night, bundle up because even the slightest wind would make it feel like temperatures in the teens.
