Warm and breezy today, colder Sunday

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Cold temperatures this morning!

TODAY: Winter Solstice starts at 4:23 this afternoon. It won't feel like winter with the high near 70, lots of sunshine and a breezy west/southwest wind 10-20mph.

TONIGHT: Some high clouds with mild temperatures to start the day, low near 40.

THIS WEEKEND: Staying dry not only for Lubbock but for the region. Perfect if you plan on traveling across Texas or surrounding states. A cold front will drop highs into the 40s and 50s Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: Christmas Eve and Christmas are looking nice with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s. Models have calmed the wind down into the Holiday... yay! There will be a chance for showers starting late Tuesday night and continuing Wednesday. For now it looks to be just rain, but if it sticks around into early Thursday we might have a mix of rain and snow.

Have a great Friday and Matt will have the next update tonight on the News at Nine.
