LUBBOCK, Texas -

Update: The motorcycle rider, 25-year-old Leo Baker, remains in the hospital with serious, but not life threatening injuries.

Crash investigators with the Lubbock Police Department are investigating a serious motorcycle crash that sent one person to the hospital with life threatening injuries Sunday evening.

Just before 4:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of 2800 East Canyon Lakes Drive for reports of a motorcycle crash.

The motorcycle rider, a 25-year-old male, was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. As of Monday morning, he remains at the hospital in critical condition.

It appears the rider was traveling westbound on East Canyon Lakes Drive and lost control at a curve in the roadway. As the motorcycle slid on the ground, he became separated from the bike and struck a tree.
