United Supermarkets and FedEx partner to fight porch piracy

Posted: Updated:

Select United Family locations in our area are partnering with FedEx to stop porch pirates from stealing packages this holiday season.

FedEx now offers packages delivered directly to one of the United locations.

"When you come do your shopping, you can come pick up your package. All you have to do is go to our service counter, tell them you're here to pick up a Fed-Ex package, show them your ID, one of our team members will get the package, scan it out on a handheld, link to Fed-Ex, sign it, and then you'll be on your way," Kris Burdis, United Family Business Manager, said.

He said with porch piracy on the rise this is a long-overdue partnership and a great opportunity for people who want to ensure the security of their packages.
