Chilly week ahead with a chance for wintry precipitation late week

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Cold and partly cloudy start to the week.

TODAY: High only near 46, this is depending on how long the cloud cover will stick around. We might be closer to 50 degrees if we get more sunshine. The wind will stay light 5-10mph changing from the northeast to the southeast by this evening.

TONIGHT: Another cold start to the morning with the low near 28.

TUESDAY: High near 50, some clouds through the afternoon. Southwest/south wind will continue to stay light 5-10mph.

EXTENDED: A low pressure system will push inland from the west for the later half of this week. This will bring a chance for some precipitation starting Thursday with some light showers. Better chance for precipitation will be Friday and Saturday, temperatures will be cold enough for freezing rain and snow. Highs will be dropping to the 30s going into the weekend.

Have a great Monday and stay warm! Matt will have the next update to the forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
