LUBBOCK, Texas -

The past five years, Zoe Campos's family, friends, and complete strangers have been endlessly searching and hoping for closure.

The journey has led them to reach out to others, forming a network of supporters and volunteers.

"The family is grieving," Nina Valdez, founder of Team Zoe said, "Their grieving their princess."

Valdez first heard about Zoe Campos when she went missing in 2013. Since then, it has been her mission to help the family find answers.

"The not knowing, I've spoken to several families, It's the not knowing that gets them every single time," Valdez said.

She then founded Team Zoe, a group dedicated to keeping the search active.

"Letting the world know, Zoe Campos, her life matters," Valdez said.

Zoe's family now has some answers. Investigators confirmed human remains found in the backyard of a home near 70th and Sherman Avenue are connected to her case. Advocate Jeni Castillo said while it is a tragic discovery, there is some peace that comes with it.

"With all of that also comes a blessing, knowing that tonight they don't have to worry about where Zoe's at and one day they'll be able to have a place where they can visit Zoe," Castillo said.

Unfortunately, Zoe's case is not the only unsolved one in our area. This inspired Valdez to found Voice of the Missing.

"It's a feeling that nobody wants to feel, even when you lose your child for 15 to 20 minutes," Valdez said. "It's that fear, they live with that fear every single day until their children are found."

With nine members, the organization is working to become a non-profit. Right now, It is currently helping four families in their search for answers.

"It's important for us to be there," Castillo said. "It's important for us to share their faces, flyers and put their story out there because somebody knows, somebody knows something."
