LUBBOCK, Texas -

A suspected serial killer, potentially linked to more than 90 murders nation-wide, was arrested in Lubbock in the midst of the alleged killing spree.

78-year-old Samuel Little is held in Ector County on a murder indictment from 1994.

He was convicted in 2014 of murdering three women in Los Angeles in the 1980's. He lured his victims with dope and beat and strangled them for his sexual pleasure. Then he dumped their half-naked bodies in the garbage.

Little has been cooperating with investigators from across the country, providing details for more than 90 murders dating back to the 1970's.

On top of the cases in Texas, he's also suspected of murders in 13 other states. In 2006 Little was arrested for shoplifting at the Walmart near 4th and the West Loop. He had used a knife to open several DVD cases and tried to sneak out with them hidden under bags of toilet paper.

He spent two weeks in jail after his conviction in 2007. LPD investigators said they're "aware" of Little's connection to Lubbock.

They will look at unsolved cases during the time frame he is suspected of living in the area to see if there are any connections to unsolved cases.
