LUBBOCK, Texas -

Senior U.S. District Judge Sam Cummings sentenced a human trafficker to two years in federal prison Friday, after pleading guilty to a single count of transportation of illegal aliens for private financial gain.

Homeland Security agents arrested Fermin Herrera-Angeles in Floyd County in May with nine suspected undocumented immigrants in the back of his van. The immigrants paid Herrera-Angeles thousands of dollars to get them into the US and to locations throughout the southwest.
