Cold temperatures continuing this morning with wind chills in the low 30s. Give yourself a few extra minutes to get to your destination as we have some fog/ drizzle reducing the visibility.
TODAY: Temperatures will stay cold with the high near 50. Mostly cloudy with light rain and drizzle expected most of the day. Northeast wind will stay light 5-15mph.
TONIGHT: Another push of cold air will move through the area, low near 33. This will bring a stronger northeast wind 10-18mph. This will also start to clear the precipitation out of the area. We might have just enough moisture to squeeze some light flurries for our northwestern counties.
FRIDAY: Temperatures will stay cold with highs in the 40s and 50s. Mostly cloudy with clouds breaking up during the afternoon. The northeast wind will start to back off during the day 5-15mph.
WEEKEND: We will see more sunshine but temperatures staying cool. Starting off Saturday with a freezing temperatures as clouds will clear out. Highs will stay in the lower to mid 50s, the upper 50s and some 60s by Sunday.
NEXT WEEK: Late Sunday our next cold front will push through the area. Long range models are bringing some precipitation with this system. Temperatures will be around the freezing mark and that may bring some wintry mix to the area. One model is bringing a little more moisture to the South Plains, while the other is keeping it near Amarillo. This quick moving system will clear out with sunshine through midweek.
Have a great Thursday, stay warm! Matt will have the next update to the forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
