Maddox family dedicates stone monument to power of prayer

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock Christian University and the Maddox family dedicated a stone marker to former LCU volleyball player Malori Rogers.

Almost three years ago, Rogers was rushed to the hospital during an LCU volleyball game in Wichita Falls with a blinding headache. When she arrived to the hospital the doctors discovered a massive brain bleed. She said the power of prayer saved her life.

"Praying for somebody is the most powerful thing you could ever do, that is more powerful than anything we can physically do, and to have that many people lifting me up in prayer, lifting my family up in prayer, that is the greatest comfort of support I could ever dream of," Rogers said.

The stone location signifies the place where hundreds of students, faculty, staff and people from the community gathered to pray for what turned out to be a miracle recovery.
