LUBBOCK, Texas -

Nurses with Covenant Children's create costumes for newborns in the NICU. Registered Nurse, Sarah Dudley, said she and about 15 other nurses spent nearly two months making the outfits.

Lauren Lange's son, Jarett, has been in NICU since August. She said all the nurses hard work means a lot to her and her family.

"So, we like to try and do something that's fun and positive in the NICU because it's a stressful environment and it's hard for the parents," Dudley said. "So, we want a little bit of normalcy, something fun. It's good for the nurses too because they have fun doing it too."

Jarett was one of about 40 newborns to receive a costume. Dudley said her love for crafting is a way of giving back to the families.
