THIS AFTERNOON: It's climbed into the 80s around the South Plains, with lots of sun. There are just a few more clouds in New Mexico that'll be here tonight.
TONIGHT: Low near 53, a few clouds. Wind SW/W 10-15mph.
TOMORROW: Mild again, but not as warm as today. A cold front will move across the Panhandle in the morning, then through the Lubbock area in the afternoon. This will lead to a pretty big range in the temperature, Lubbock's high near 72.
The wind doesn't look too strong. It'll start W 10-15mph in the morning, becoming NE 10-18mph late afternoon.
COLDER WEATHER: We'll get a stronger push of cold air tomorrow night into Wednesday. Also during that time there should be some pretty good snowfall in the higher elevations of Northeast New Mexico. By the time the disturbance gets here it won't be as cold and we won't have much lift or humidity. All this means that we'll probably get some drizzle or light rain in parts of our area Wednesday. But it won't add up to much.
Wednesday will be cloudy and colder, high near 50. For Halloween night plans, temperature will be in the 40s Wednesday evening.
LOOKING AHEAD: A freeze is possible north of Lubbock Thursday morning. We'll see more sun by the afternoon. This weekend will turn warmer. Saturday will be mild and breezy, with a nice clear evening for the OU-Texas Tech game. Kickoff is a few minutes after sunset, temperature in the 60s dropping into the 50s during the game.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
