LEVELLAND, Texas -

According to the Hockley County Sheriff's Office, an arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect believed to have been involved in the burglary at Atchison’s Jewelry Wednesday morning.

Investigators believe Chris Sanchez, 18, may also be connected to the first burglary at Atchison’s and the burglary at Abbeville Dentistry earlier this month.

A Levelland officer discovered the burglary around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday while on patrol and found the glass on the front door was shattered.

Investigators located a kettlebell weight inside a shattered display case in the business and believe the weight was used to break the glass on the front door for Sanchez to gain entry.

Police said around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, a theft was reported at Walmart in which Sanchez reportedly ran out of the store with a kettlebell weight.

Investigators followed up on the lead and pulled video footage from Walmart to identify the suspect. After discovering additional information about the stolen jewelry being recovered, they were able to secure a warrant for Sanchez' arrest.

Anyone with information on Sanchez’ whereabouts is urged to contact the Levelland Police Department by calling 894-6164.
