The Silent Wings Museum Opens New Exhibition Work, Fight, Give: American Relief Posters of WWII

LUBBOCK, Texas -

A new exhibition provides understanding of a watershed event in our nation's history.

The Silent Wings Museum opens a traveling exhibition based on American World War II relief efforts.

Work, Fight, Give offers a wide-range of original relief posters, like Rosie the Riveter, and memorabilia like photographs, banners and programs.

"So, it's kind of interesting to be able to realize that, you know, there's so many things that go into the war. And not only in keeping the war, but making sure you're successful and trying not to let anything slip through the cracks on the home front," Briana Vela, Marketing and Special Event Coordinator, said.

Vela said these national relief posters helped focus on communities that were most affected by the war. The exhibition opens Oct. 23 and continues through January 2019.
