RAINY DAY: The rain started early this morning and has been moving across the area off-and-on through the day. The heaviest rain has been over the southwestern South Plains, though none of it has really been heavy. Totals are approaching an inch to the southwest. Even around Lubbock, there's been some street flooding, but it's only been when the rain has picked up to a moderate shower.
TONIGHT: Some rain will continue off-and-on, cloudy, temperature holding in the mid to upper 40s.
TOMORROW: It'll be warmer with less rain. High in the lower 60s, wind S/N 5-10mph. Now there still is a chance for some showers, mainly early in the day. Rain may linger east of Lubbock into the afternoon. While the fields will be wet, the weather should cooperate with Friday night football games.
WEEKEND: We get a brief break in the clouds this weekend. Saturday will bring a good supply of sunshine with the high in the mid 60s. It looks nice for the Texas Tech game.
Sunday turns cooler again, along with a slight chance for some rain late.
NEXT WEEK: Tuesday and Wednesday look more favorable for some rain. But at this point we have at least a slight chance for rain each day through Thursday. It won't be as cold as this week, but it still appears we'll fall short of the average high around 73.
Hope you have a great rest of the day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow
