LUBBOCK, Texas -

Alcohol plays a big role in the West Texas economy.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission reports more than 52,000 hundred licensed businesses contribute more than $40 billion annually.

TABC hosts its roundtable discussions for members to weigh in on its performance.

"We want to explain how the agency works, how we're trying to improve our relationship with the industry that we regulate, and be responsible to the tax payers, the citizens of Texas that we serve and the legislature that oversees us," Region Supervisor of the Law Enforcement Division, Mark Menn, said.

TABC Executive Director, Bentley Nettles, said these discussions serve as a forum for agency leaders, industry members and lawmakers to express their ideas going forward.
