Congressman Arrington to honor Shallowater assistant principal in flag presentation

U.S. representative Jodey Arrington to make flag presentation to assistant high school principal and Lieutenant Colonel Kris Hulse honoring his service and command of the 2nd batallion, 142nd infantry regiment (armed forces reserve center – lubbock, tx).

Please join Shallowater ISD and Congressman Jodey Arrington as we honor the service of Lt. Col. Kris Hulse for his service and command of the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Lubbock, TX.

LTC Kris Hulse joined the Army National Guard in 1991, and began his career in the 320th Ordnance Detachment, 1-200 ADA, New Mexico Army National Guard. In 1994, LTC Hulse transitioned to the Texas Army National Guard becoming a member of the Scout Platoon in Det. 1,HHC/2-142IN.

Upon Commissioning as a Second Lieutenant from Officer Candidate School in 1997, LTC Hulse branched Infantry, and was assigned as a Rifle Platoon Leader with D/2-142IN, Wellington TX. Since 1997 LTC Hulse served in numerous duty positions within 2-142IN, as a Company Executive Officer, as well as Company Commander for A/2-142, and HHC/2-142 respectively.

LTC Hulse served as the 56IBCT S1, prior to being assigned as the S3, and eventually the XO for 2-142IN. Most recently LTC Hulse has served as the Liaison Officer for the Train, Advise, Assist Command –South (TAAC-S) with the 36th Infantry Division Headquarters (Forward) in Afghanistan. LTC Hulse has been activated into Federal Service with the Texas Army National Guard four times. Operation Noble EagleI (2001), Operation Iraqi Freedom, (2005, 2008) and Operation Resolute Support, Afghanistan (2017).

LTC Hulse is a graduate of West Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Graduate of Texas Tech University with a Master of Education. His professional career outside of the Texas Army National Guard is in education, where He is the Assistant Principal at Shallowater High School, but has taught in Amarillo, Canyon and Happy school districts. He resides in Shallowater with his family; wife Amy, and their three children, Carson, Hannah, and Brennan.
