Lubbock first freeze occurred at 4:35 this morning. We still have a breezy northeast wind 15-25mph, making it feel like the teens and twenties outside. There has been a few spots that might see some LIGHT mixed precipitation as we get through the morning. Not expecting any travel concerns as this will be light and not sticking to the ground.
TODAY: High near 41, mostly cloudy with the strong northeast wind backing through the day 10-20mph. There will still be a chance for some sprinkles and showers on and off this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Low near 35, some freezing temperatures again for the northern counties. Mostly cloudy with light rain chances for the southern counties.
TUESDAY: Highs a little warmer but still cold, near 49. Good news is the wind will be much lighter 6-12mph. Staying mostly cloudy and again some light showers possible.
BETTER RAIN CHANCES: A low pressure system develops to the west this will help bring some better moisture in the area. A weak front will push into the area late Wednesday, this will help to lift the moisture providing rain chances. This seems to continue through Thursday then diminishing by Friday. These cold temperatures stick around through the week, finally a small warm up by Friday.
Have a great Monday, stay warm out there! Matt will have the next update to the forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
