LUBBOCK, Texas -

News release from City of Lubbock:

The City of Lubbock will host a public Open House on Monday, October 15 at 6:00 p.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, Banquet Hall. The purpose of the event is to highlight the final draft of PlanLubbock 2040, the city’s Comprehensive Plan. Efforts to update the plan, which dates back to 1986, have been underway since early 2017.

The evening will begin with a brief overview presentation of the work that has gone into the final draft, followed by a description of the next steps in the process and what PlanLubbock 2040 means for our community. Finally, attendees will have the opportunity to provide public comments and walk around to various displays highlighting the main concepts of the plan.

Public input is critical to a successful Comprehensive Plan as it captures the vision of the community. This Open House is the perfect opportunity for citizens to ask questions and have conversations with City Staff about their ideas for growth and development.

The final draft is available at www.mylubbock.us/PlanLubbock2040 for review. The City of Lubbock encourages citizens to attend the Open House on Monday and provide their feedback about the plan. Other ways of providing comments include the City of Lubbock social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter @cityoflubbock, by email to CityPlanning@mylubbock.us, or by calling (806) 775-2108.

All emails are demanding payments through Bitcoin. At this time, no suspicious packages have been located and it appears the email is possibly a scam.
