East Lubbock Promise Neighborhood to host community event, “Keeping the Promise”

LUBBOCK, Texas -

WHAT: East Lubbock Promise Neighborhood is hosting its fifth “Keeping the Promise” event that will review the progress of this long-term, community based initiative and also look at future plans for progress across the entire East Lubbock community. This is the second year that ELPN will be serving a holiday meal and giving away turkeys to the community.

“Keeping the Promise” will feature food, activities for children, and giveaways.

East Lubbock Promise Neighborhood is one of the few Promise Neighborhoods chosen each year by the U.S. Department of Education. The East Lubbock Promise Neighborhood is a place-based initiative that empowers a community to provide comprehensive, high-quality educational and social supports to ensure the longterm health, safety, and economic well being of the entire community. The organization began in 2012.
