The cool and wet weekend continues - FOX34 Lubbock

The cool and wet weekend continues

**SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH** for Lea County, NM until 10 p.m.

**FLOOD WATCH** for Swisher, Briscoe, Hall, Childress, Hale, Floyd, Motley, Cottle, Hockley, Lubbock, Crosby, Dickens, King, Yoakum, Terry, Lynn, Garza, Kent, and Stonewall Counties until Monday evening.

Rainfall continues across the South Plains with most of the rain south and east of Lubbock. As we head into Saturday evening, the rainfall has fizzled a little south of Lubbock, but showers will likely persist overnight.

TONIGHT: Expect some lingering storms. Low temperatures will reach 59° with ESE winds near 10 mph.

SUNDAY: A repeat of clouds, scattered showers, and thunderstorms. High temperatures near 72°.

It looks like we do dry off midweek, but some showers could return in the forecast by the weekend. We will even be flirting with the 40s some nights. While still a ways out, beyond next week it looks like we could be seeing much colder air. Overall, keep your boots handy.
