Salvation Army's Angel Tree program accepting applications
LUBBOCK, Texas -
The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program is accepting applications.
Families will sponsor children of other families during Christmas with toys, clothes and other needs.
Nathanael Doria, Core Officer for the Salvation Army in Lubbock, said it's designed to be affordable for anyone to sponsor children younger than 14.
"Based on what we saw last year, we estimate that it's going to be around 600 families," Doria said. "The importance of the angel tree program is that it's a program for made for anyone. You don't have to be wealthy to help another person."
Families will also get a food voucher to assist with a Christmas dinner.
Interested sponsors can apply here. The deadline is November 10.
