Suspect in police chase arrested after striking Lubbock County Deputy's vehicle

LUBBOCK, Texas -

On Monday, October 1, at approximately 9:46 a.m., the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for assistance from the Crosby County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a stolen vehicle.

Deputies say Johnny Gonzales-Ramos, 22, was driving the stolen vehicle out of Crosby County. Lubbock County Sheriff's Office report Deputies and DPS pursued the vehicle. During the pursuit, Ramos reportedly drove into oncoming traffic on East Highway 62/82 and struck a Deputy's vehicle.

A GPS system in the vehicle allowed officers to track his position all the way to Wolfforth on West Highway 62/82.

Ramos is currently booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center and charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle, with the possibility of additional charges pending.

There were no reported injuries during this incident.
