Man charged with federal sex trafficking crimes, hearing set in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Jimmy Washington, Junior, charged with federal sex trafficking crimes, will meet with a Judge in Lubbock.

Washington's charges include sex trafficking, conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, sexual exploitation of children, conspiracy to sexually exploit children, two counts of conspiracy to transport for prostitution and distributing child pornography.

According to court documents, Washington and his wife, Demecia Washington, convinced a 15-year-old girl they were her aunt and uncle and tempted her into prostitution.

Court documents indicate the victim was instructed to refer to Washington as "daddy" and Demecia as "queen", names typically used in trafficking. The couple took the victim from Mesquite, to Hobbs, Odessa and Las Vega, where she was reportedly used for prostitution in each city.

Investigators say Washington promised the victim money, a place to live and protection if she adhered to his rules, and she began working for him as a prostitute in Hobbs. Money she earned was to be split with Washington and his wife. Investigators say the couple took explicit photographs of the victim, posting them online, to generate "dates", or clients. The victim was also instructed to walk in front of motels to screen potential clients.

Agents report Washington posted multiple ads of the victim, each advertising a fake name and age, usually containing a sexual message. The victim told investigators she was coerced into having sex with at least 40 clients.

The process was repeated in Las Vegas and Odessa.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police found the victim in a hotel room after she said the couple fled and left her there.

According to court documents, during their stay in Las Vegas, the victim attempted to leave Washington. Washington reportedly grabbed her, slapped her across the face and told her she "could never leave" and if she left "he knew how to find her." Agents report, out of fear, she kept working for Washington.

Court documents show the victim began hiding portions of the money she earned to eventually escape back to Texas.

Investigators say on September 1, the victim woke up in a Las Vegas hotel room, both Washington and Demecia were gone, along with the victims belongings, including the money.

Agents say the victim called Demecia, who proceeded to tell her they were gone and to find her own way back home. The victim then called her grandma in Texas as well as the police.

Washington's hearing is set for Wednesday October 3.
