RAINY AFTERNOON: The temperature is in the 50s this afternoon after Lubbock reached a high of 90 yesterday. We've picked up 0.95" of rain at the Lubbock airport through 3:10 this afternoon. Here are some 24-hour rain totals through mid-afternoon on the Texas Tech Mesonet:
New Home 1.34"
Lake Alan Henry 1.14"
Near Texas Tech 1.11"
Roaring Springs 1.11"
White River Lake 0.92"
THIS EVENING: Rain will wind down across the area, all the heavier showers well east of here. The wind will also back off some.
TONIGHT: Clouds starting to break up, along with light wind, setting up a colder morning. Low near 45 in Lubbock, a few degrees cooler northwest of the city. With it getting this cool, some fog is possible.
TOMORROW: Sunshine returns, high near 77. Wind W/SW 5-15mph. Sunrise 7:39.
NEXT FEW DAYS: It'll climb back to the mid 80s Friday with a southerly wind returning. The weekend looks mild. Lots of sun for the Texas Tech game, high near 80 Saturday. There are some weak signals of rain in the region Saturday, though that'll probably be near Abilene.
NEXT WEEK: There may be more humidity moving up this way from tropical system Rosa in the eastern Pacific.
Computers aren't too bullish on rain through mid-week. The timing is off on different solutions, but it's starting to look more likely that we'll get some rain at some point second half of next week, possibly another front moving through here. But since it's so far out and there's yet to be much consistency in the guidance, we'll keep the forecast dry through Wednesday with changes expected in coming days.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update posted here early tomorrow.
