Stress is an inevitable part of life, but in rare instances terrifying events can overwhelm our coping ability, leaving some psychologically paralyzed. 

Join us as we discuss practical ways to cope through traumatic experiences and help other begin healing.

WHEN: Thursday Sept. 27 and Friday Sept. 28

WHERE: Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center 3601 4th Street Academic Building 150

Speakers include: 

The Rev Inetta A. Reddel, Mayor Dan Pope, UMC Sr. VP Patient Care Services Dr. Tim Howel, EMS-Les Littlefield Ethan Winegarner, Lubbock Fire and LPD EMDR trained specialists, Elizabeth R. Clark, Bob Howell, Dr. Thomas McGovern, and military speakers. 

Learning objectives: 

Connect stress with family problems that escalate to violence, examine and/or propose various pathways for treatment and/or recovery and relate stress to mental illness, with special focus on death by suicide.
