Warm and becoming breezy this afternoon

Posted: Updated:

Nice start to the morning with temperatures just a few degrees warmer than yesterday. We have a light southwest wind 5-15mph.
?

TODAY: A cold front will move through the area during the day. This will bring a breezy northeast wind 15-25mph with clouds increasing tonight. High near 87, this will occur earlier in the day before the frontal passage.

TONIGHT: Low near 52, some 40s will be expected north and west of Lubbock. 40% chance for rain, most areas could see between a quarter and half an inch. The northeast wind will stay breezy through morning.

WEDNESDAY: High will not move much at 59... let that sink in just a little. Mostly cloudy with a 60% chance for the rain continuing across the area. The wind will start to back off some later in the day.

EXTENDED: Warming up and drying out Thursday. Highs will be increasing to the upper 70s and 80s to end the week. Another front will keep temperatures a little below average for the weekend.

Have a great Tuesday! Matt will have the latest update to the forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
