LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock Police Department Traffic Unit will temporarily shut down the intersection of 4th Street and Texas Tech Parkway on Thursday, September 20th beginning at 9 a.m. The closure is expected to last approximately two hours as LPD crash investigators map out of the scene of a September 16th crash that injured five people.

All north, south and westbound traffic will be diverted before getting to the intersection. Eastbound traffic on 4th Street will be reduced to one lane and all drivers will be forced to turn south onto Texas Tech Parkway.

Westbound traffic on 4th Street will be diverted north or south onto Indiana Avenue. Northbound traffic on Texas Tech Parkway will be forced to turn east onto 5th Street.

Drivers will continue to have access to UMC along Texas Tech Parkway and Indiana Avenue.

The Texas Department of Transportation will also be assisting with the road closure.
