Dodged some showers today; another chance Sunday

We dodged some showers around Texas Tech today, but the chance for a stray shower remains overnight. Tomorrow could bring some showers as well. Drier and warmer conditions follow to start the week.

TONIGHT: A stray shower possible with partly cloudy skies. Expect a low of 65° and ESE winds 5-10mph.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy with a chance of some isolated showers and thunderstorms. Best chance of rain includes Lubbock and areas south. Expect SSE 5-10mph.

Tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico continues to drift westward across south Texas into the Big Bend area. This enhanced moisture will be beneficial as it will bring the chance for rainfall, but it will be difficult for that moisture to make a significant difference this far north. We start the week drier with more sunshine, so temperatures respond by climbing into the upper 80s. Toward the end of the week however, we could see another chance of some isolated showers with temperatures moderating a bit.
