WOLFFORTH, Texas -

Wolfforth Teen Leadership Council:

In January 2018, the City of Wolfforth (in partnership with us) started a teen leadership council. This council is a group of teens wishing to make a change in their community, and learn valuable leadership skills. Applications for the 2019 Teen Leadership Council are open and will be due on October 31st . If your teen, ages 13-18 (7th -12th grade), is interested please come by the library and fill out an application. This is a great opportunity to learn and be an active part of the community and it looks great on college applications!

Frenship Yearbooks:

The City of Wolfforth Library has a collection of Frenship yearbooks, but it is incomplete. WE NEED YOUR HELP! We have a unique opportunity to have all of the yearbooks digitized for the community and it is completely FREE. Yearbooks that we are missing include 1935-1945, 1950, 1953, 1955-1957, and 1984 – present. If you have a yearbook you would like to donate please bring it to the library or contact Kim Brown at 806-855-4150. The opportunity to have these yearbooks digitized won’t last forever and we want to have these available to the community in both print and online.

Book Club:

Our adult book club has been meeting at the City of Wolfforth Library for a few years now and we love it! The group reads just about any genre in both fiction and non-fiction so it is a great way to read something you might not otherwise read. Any member can suggest a book and to be a member you simply need to show up. The September book was Britt-Marie was here and the October selection is Reliance, Illinois by Mary Volmer. The Library strongly supports the book club and will always strive to have 2 copies of each book available for checkout. The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month in the library community room. Gathering and visiting (usually with snacks) begins about 1:00pm followed by book discussion from 1:30pm – 2:30pm. Snacks are never required, but someone usually brings goodies related to the book to share. Upcoming reads for winter include The sweetness at the bottom of the pie, A redbird Christmas, and A fatal grace. For more information contact Judy Chapman at 806-632-3622 or via email at judyandcharley@gmail.com.

Snuggle Up and Read December:

Pajama and Hot Cocoa Friday We will be hosting our 4 th annual “Snuggle up and Read” December. Every Friday in December we will have homemade cocoa waiting to be prepared just for you. The staff will be wearing pajamas every Friday and we encourage you to wear yours too! We all love excuses to wear cozy pajamas.
