LUBBOCK, Texas -

El Paso Congressman Beto O'Rourke appeared on Ellen to discuss kneeling during the National Anthem, President Trump and the DUI the representative got when he was 26.

In the appearance, O'Rourke addressed tweets from the president, who will campaign for Republican Senator Ted Cruz in Texas.

Responding to President Trump's tweet which states O'rourke is "weak on second amendment, crime, border, military and vets."

"First of all we welcome the President to Texas and we are glad that he's coming. Texas is the most diverse state in the country. It's the defining immigrant story we should, Republicans and Democrats together, be able to lead the way, not only to stop taking kids from parents, not only to free dreamers from the fear of deportation and make them US citizens on that same day, but to lead in a bold, ambitious way that makes the most out of all of us. Including those who choose to be here," O'Rourke said.

When addressing his DUI O'Rourke said he realized he made a mistake, but was given another opportunity and hopes African Americans and Hispanics will be given opportunities, like he was.
