LUBBOCK, Texas -

Middle and high school students are learning how to be their own bosses.

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) takes participants from students to CEO's over a span of 30 weeks. Mentors, guest speakers, and field trips are all part of the curriculum that will help students build their own businesses

"They not only take a fully formed business away from this, but the public speaking aspect of it and self-confidence that they get from the program is zero to none," Community Development Director for the Lubbock Chamber, Amy Marquez, said.

Students in grades 6 through 12 are all encouraged to apply for one of the 24 positions.
