Lea County Sheriff's respond to reported burglary, three suspects in custody

Lea County Sheriffs Office: 

Lea County Sheriff Deputies responded to 3600 block Western Trail, Lovington, NM in reference to a reported burglary in progress.

The owner reported three subjects were taking items from inside a building. The owner advised Lea County Communications Authority Dispatch he had one of the subjects detained at gunpoint.

Upon arrival, Deputies detained the male identified as Christopher Kephart, age 32 of Lovington, NM. Two other subjects were observed fleeing the scene. Deputies observed two other sets of shoe prints leading from the area where Kephart had originally been located.

Deputies requested assistance from the Lovington Police Department K9 Unit. K9 Vax and his handler responded to assist Deputies in locating the two suspects. Deputies located the female suspect, Ofelia Rivera, age 56 of Lovington, NM in the 5500 block Sumruld, Lovington, NM. K9 Vax and his handler located the third suspect, Angel Fabian Lozoya, age 38 of Lovington, NM.

Lozoya was located attempting to conceal himself under a bush.

The value of items recovered at the scene totaled $675.00.

All three suspects were placed into custody and transported to the Lea County Detention Center
